Melissa is a believer in the power of architecture and design as a catalyst for positive change in the world. As a Principal at HCMA Architecture + Design, Melissa enjoys working closely with clients and project teams to find creative solutions to unique design challenges. She is currently the Principal-in-Charge of Surrey's Clayton Community Centre, which combines recreation, library, arts and parks in a seamlessly integrated facility. Once complete, it is anticipated to be the largest Passive House building in Canada and the first certified community centre of its scale in North America.

Melissa recently shared her perspective on Passive House as an Architect at Active Pursuit of Passive House First at the City of Surrey's Construction Expo and at the 2018 AIBC Conference on Transitioning Part 3 Building Design to Passive House Standards.
