Michael Jemtrud is an Associate Professor of Architecture and Founding Director of the Facility for Architectural Research in Media and Mediation (FARMM) at McGill University School of Architecture. His research and creative activity focuses on investigating the contemporary understanding of technology and culture relative to sustainable design and building practices. His work engages numerous public and private stakeholders and has been supported by various institutional and industry partners. He teaches courses in architectural and sustainable design, digital media, critical design strategies, contemporary & cultural theory, and the philosophy of technology. Professor Jemtrud has published and lectured widely in regard to his research-creation and scholarly activity and has received awards for technology development, scholarly and creative work.
